You’ve heard it all for years: “Be careful what you share online.” “Don’t click on links.” “Don’t trust emails from strangers.” As a senior, you’ve probably become extra cautious after hearing stories about internet fraud, phishing, and identity theft.

And rightly so! That caution has protected you well.

But now there is something new: ChatGPT. You read about it almost every day in the newspaper, hear about it on the news and maybe your children or grandchildren talk about it enthusiastically. But you are doubting: is this still for me? Isn't this too difficult and above all, isn't it dangerous?

You too can benefit from this revolution

ChatGPT is truly revolutionary, but in a good and safe way. You can compare it to the advent of search engines like Google or the rise of email – free tools that, when used wisely, can enrich your life considerably.

But unknown is unloved and because many seniors do not yet know what ChatGPT can do for them, and are a bit suspicious about it, they miss the boat. ChatGPT can help you with countless daily tasks, without you having to share any confidential data. Whether it concerns:

  • Help with writing a letter to the municipality

  • Finding travel information

  • Adapting recipes to your diet

  • Finding activities near you

With a few simple guidelines, ChatGPT is as safe to use as Google or email.

Why then do so many seniors hesitate?

From our conversations with peers, it appears that many hesitate because they:

  • Simply do not know ChatGPT and how it works, and are worried that it is a scam

  • do now know exactly what ChatGPT can see of their personal data

  • think it's too complicated to use safely

George (71) from London told us: " At first I didn't dare, because I didn't understand it. But my grandchild Emma gave me an e-book as a present in which everything was explained very simply. Now I use it every day for absolutely everything: my garden, my fishing club and of course writing e-mails and messages. I thanked Emma with a funny poem, of course written by ChatGPT... "

A small step with big benefits

In our e-book "ChatGPT is not for senior citizens" we explain step by step how you can handle this new technology completely safely. Because we are convinced: with the right knowledge, ChatGPT is 100% safe for seniors.

Get started with this safety tip today

You don’t have to wait to discover the benefits of ChatGPT. Start with a simple question, like “Can you give me a recipe for sugar-free apple pie?” or “What are some fun activities for seniors in [your city]?”

This way you can see for yourself how helpful this new technology can be. As a general safety tip, don't share anything with ChatGPT that you wouldn't share if you were asking for advice from a complete stranger .
